This album is brilliant. A breath of fresh air for hiphop. It puts the west coast back on the map. The production by Quik is ahead of the curve, extremely innovative. The track “the appeal” is phenomenal, it has a bassline that changes througout the song, each riff with the potential of being a hit. “9 X OUTTA 10″ is the most catchy song on the LP, and redefines hiphop and gangsta rap. These two artists are hiphop legends, Dj Quik being the most underrated producer in rap music. 5 stars!

not that I can blame you both for calling out the disrespectful presumptuousness of even seeming to suggest that legends like DJ Quik and Kurupt could be influenced by an extremely popular Neptunes production everyone’s comparing the track to.

i love this track, tho im with al about people always jumping on board whenver nything sounds like ‘grinding’ — kinda annoying. but yeah, kurupt & quik are so far ahead of paying ‘homage’ to the clipse, that sounds kinda ridic

This is ignorant. Not that crazy about the song myself, but not everything with extremely remotely similar to ‘Grindin’ drums is a ‘Grindin’ homage. Especially not at this late date.
