Iain Mew: I enjoy revisiting both Hank Solo’s Sanni-featuring “Söpö” and our reviews of it — “Need a climax? Just nightcore it!” is a phrase that regularly comes into my head. The chorus in “Pornoo” introduces the alternative climax option “just Teen Spirit it!,” which takes a bigger wrecking ball still to the song’s continuity. It works because when you’re singing about someone being so good you don’t need porn, embracing ridiculousness is one of the best available options, and because Sanni’s heady performance would have to face a lot more than that to be put in the shade.

Alfred Soto: The stutter beats evoke the Timberlake-Timberland regency a decade ago, an era for which I’m not nostalgic, while the vocal distortions suggest an attempt to keep everyone awake during the proceedings.

Cédric Le Merrer: A lumbering take on Justin Timberlake’s “My Love” going into an inexplicable guitary chorus.

Alex Clifton: Lots of neat individual parts, but cobbled together to form a Frankensong that lasts much longer than it should.

Micha Cavaseno: Sadly the song atop the wildstyle instrumental hodgepodge that bases “Pornoo” isn’t entirely thrilling for me, and at first glance feels like very conservative electronic pop. At the same time, any record that manages to effortlessly segue into Skwee, hair metal and EDM Trap deserves some praise for being daring enough to demonstrate how easily the song can fit almost any stylistic mode, so good for Sanni to have such a feather in one’s cap.

Ryo Miyauchi: There are no winks to some underlining joke in forms of ad libs or innuendo, so I’ll give benefit of the doubt that Sanni means well. But everything about “Pornoo” is still too kitsch to buy into any of it: it’s all just the kind of “no one compares” fluff to say because it’s not worth spilling the truth of his lack. And it doesn’t help the beat sounds like readymade, kitchen-sink trap.

Katherine St Asaph: FutureSex/LoveSounds/Also 2006Sounds/Also BasicallyAllTheSounds. It’s not not compelling, but would be way more impressive if it came out 10 years ago.
